Action Potential Model

Hodgkin and Huxley mathematically described the ionic basis of the action potential.

Alan Hodgkin and Andrew Huxley's 1952 mathematical model of the squid giant axon action potential described ionic conductances through voltage-gated sodium and potassium channels. Their Nobel-winning work founded computational neuroscience and remains the standard model of neural excitability.
